 I've updated [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/7812 PR
 #7812] to include a new filter to disable auto-sizes more easily. In doing
 so, I'm also proposing to consolidate all of the logic responsible for
 this feature in the same function to improve maintainability.
