 This is definitely not the case. WordPress.com is a hosting service that
 offers WordPress software with some extra features (they developed) for
 its customers. WordPress.org, is the source of WordPress, it's where you
 can get the WordPress software to use on your own server/hosting.
 WordPress.com also takes the same WordPress version that you take but it
 seems that they add a thing or two.
 WordPress.org is not a limited/freemium version; you have full control
 over all the features and can add any themes or plugins you want.
