 Sounds great @johnbillion. Would love to see this getting done in WP 6.6.

 If things continue with a decline as we have it now we should easily be
 able to push the minimum php version to 7.4 on WP 6.7. if we can agree on
 this (if ofc combined its below the 5% threshold) it would be great to
 preinform users early on this step also.
