 Maybe this will change things because the scope of this issue is much
 broader than 6.4 and to me requires a point release for each branch going
 back to 4.1

 I did some spot checking with versions I had running and it appears that
 every branch that received the January 30, 2024 update is broken.

 Branches/versions I confirmed with the issue.

 6.2.4
 5.9.9
 5.8.9
 5.6.13
 5.4.15
 5.2.20
 4.9.25
 4.1.40 - Fails with a timeout rather than the incompatible archive
 message.

 So, I think it's a fair assumption that the in-between versions updated on
 January 30, 2024 share the same results.

 And this is why each of these branches needs a point release as soon as
 possible because 6.5 won't fix them unless they all get patched then as
 well, so there would still need to be a 6.4.4, etc. with the fix.
