 Another thing, after my first reply here I redid all my zipfiles with the
 suggested method of doing it through Terminal.
 I’m on macOS, using this command from the parent folder of the folder i
 want to compress.

 `zip -r plugin-slug.zip plugin-slug/`

 I think that’s about a week ago I did that, and some users today who got
 plugins after I ‘fixed things’ are still complaining about incompatible
 archive errors.
 Maybe I did something wrong, I’m no terminal guy or zip expert, but the
 workaround doesn’t work reliably it seems.
