 I'm personally not familiar with this code so I can't speak about the time
 or the amount of work needed to address this on Gutenberg. I'm only
 speaking as editor release lead and trying to be mindful that most
 developers are working in the next few days getting their features on time
 for 6.5 and that it's not great to block them as it may have impact on
 deadlines...
