 @Benjamin_Zekavica I believe we should lean this direction towards a
 result that is confidently WordPress for each release—rather than the
 stark branding of releases that are abstracted from WordPress as a brand.

 This aesthetic leans towards an "unmistakably WordPress" feel, reminiscent
 of the 6.4 release micro-site
 (https://wordpress.org/download/releases/6-4/), which was widely received;
 the caveats are with the constraints and nuances of the WordPress admin
 page. It's palatable, clear, effective, and allows the content connect
 well.
