 This thread isn't a discussion, and @kraftner clearly stated that isn't
 meant to be. I've tried Slack, but was pointed back here.

 assume was having this page in mind:
 https://wordpress.org/support/forums/. But there are multiple forums
 there, and it isn't clear which one is relevant. I've tried a couple, and
 none of them mention this issue.

 The bottom line is that it seems there isn't a place to have an effective
 discussion (at least not an easily-found one), and when there is no
 discussion there is frustration.

 That might point to a bigger communication gap, which in turn might have
 led to this problematic version update. (I believe the outcome of the
 security fix wasn't very hard to predict)

 I've been using WordPress for years, and that is the first time I dive dip
 into how the discussion is made. To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed.
 Considering the fact that it is an open-source project, the discussion
 doesn't feel very open. (Slack felt to me sort of inclusive)

 I'm not sure who's who here, and what your rule is in the community, if
 you have one (and that might be part of the problem). But if you do, maybe
 you can suggest to the people in charge to work on simplifying and
 improving the communication with the users' community.
