Adding my two cents again: WP 5.6 added "beta" support for PHP 8.0 (5.9
did for 8.1 and 6.1 did for 8.2). PHP 8 usage is now at 22.5%, over 5
times a much as PHP 5.6 usage (currently at 4.2%)!
Even if you combine all PHP 5 versions (which makes no sense because they
can't update to the latest WP version anyway), they have only 5.9% usage.
Please, stop supporting ancient PHP versions in favour of modern PHP! The
core codebase could benefit **so much** from dropping 5.6...
