Comment:

 If we determine this is something that needs to be addressed in core, I've
 added [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/4992 a
 potential patch] that should avoid an unusual codepath that would end up
 loading the `class-wp-metadata-lazyloader.php` file twice.

 @alexpaterson could you try applying this code change to your environment?
