 Hi,
 What about making it opt-in for WordPress v6.1 by providing UI.
 We can add another suggestion in site health for giving it more exposure.
 Even if only 1% users enable it as soon as it is available, it will help
 us to see if there are any bugs or edge cases left to be covered.
 For WordPress v6.2, we can make it opt-out once asyc media generation is
 ready.
 That time, we can also introduce multi mime support as all things will be
 in place.
