 Thanks for the ticket @salvoaranzulla ! It looks like some work toward
 fixing this was landed in 5.9:
 https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/53675

 It is possible this edge case was not identified in the scope of that
 ticket. Moving to 6.2 to investigate.
