 Thanks @ndiego for reporting this. We reviewed this ticket during a recent
 bug-scrub session for WP 6.0 and based on the feedback received, we're
 positive about an additional patch before RC1.The regression that appears
 to have highlighted a possible problem in Core. The next step would be to
 get a patch on the ticket for discussion/review.
