 Any news when this will be fixed? A WordPress server behind a frontend
 webserver is not an uncommon configuration and for something as basic as
 the next/previous page links on the posts/pages listing pages to be broken
 for six years is frankly ridiculous, especially when several generous
 people have submitted patches to fix it.

 This bug causes problems for plugins (e.g. TablePress) that use the same
 helper functions (e.g. see [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/in-list-
 of-tables-next-page-links-url-is-for-backend-webserver/ this bug report]
 wrongly filed against TablePress).
