But, are really those numbers real? Or are they ghosted sites? This is
something that we usually talk in the Hosting team meetings. To be
accurate, the real data should be “WordPress major version + PHP major
version” (if this data exists, I didn't find out).
If you have WP 3.9 + PHP 5.6, that's a ''ghost'' site… and this should'b
be counted.
If you have a WP 6.0 + PHP 5.6, that's a ''problem'' site… and this need
to be counted.
I asked some time ago for this data, but couldn't get it to analyze with
the others Hosting Team Reps.
The real question here is… should we check WordPress older than WP 4.0
(for example) whatever PHP have?
If you have some older versions of WordPress, and you want to update, you
don't need to update WordPress only you need to update everything. For
that reason, we created this post:
