 Feature request: add a core wrapper function to retrieve global
 {{{$wp->request}}}.

 Core should provide a function {{{wp_get_uri_request()}}} (or some other
 naming convention) to reliably get the uri request. And reduce reliance on
 globals/superglobals.

 instead use:
