 Here's a thought: WordPress now pushes users to a minimum PHP version and
 plugins like Yoast SEO only support the last 2 versions of WordPress.

 Why not do the same with front-end scripting languages used in core?

 Perhaps Site Health can help facilitate this, but it'll also help to note
 which version of jQuery is required for plugins and themes in the
 repository and make authors consider moving forward.
