 I've had other scanning vendors pick up on some of the XSS vulnerabilities
 and other known issues with old jQuery versions while doing the scans.
 Not everyone simply checks the version number.

 Seriously, we need to stop figuring out how to cheat the emissions test
 and actually bring this software into compliance.  It's already a headache
 for those of us who are required to certify, and these non-solution band-
 aids to avoid actually properly doing the upgrade that should have been
 done years ago are not going to alleviate anything.

 Let's fix this right, sort out the fallout from it, and move past it
 already.
