Comment:

 One more thing to address that happens also on trunk before applying
 [attachment:"42201.9.patch"]:

 When the menu is collapsed, the counters are not styled properly. See
 screenshot below. Actually, there is ''another'' counter within `.wp-
 submenu-head` that is shown only when the menu is collapsed.
