 Thanks for the info. I tried as you said. Disabled plugins, etc.

 I am running 5.2.2 but my language is set to "Français du Canada" (French
 Canadian). When I try to switch to "French" (not canadian), then, as you
 said, the text is displayed correctly. When I revert to Canadian French,
 then the text is broken again.

 So I think the problem affects only the "Français du Canada" translation.
