 Update: I've just upgraded to latest Windows (Windows 10 Pro – version
 1903 build 18362.207) and JAWS 2019. Thinks work far better and JAWS
 correctly reads the emojis on all browsers.

 See the JAWS speech history in the screenshot below. Note: it displays the
 emojis as images but they're actually announced as "slightly smiling face"
 and "carrot":

 while with JAWS 2018 they were completely ignored:
