 Correction: while it doesn't affect Safari + VoiceOver, it does affect
 screen readers on Windows. See the double spoken message in the attached
 screenshot, testing with Firefox and NVDA. This issue needs to be solved,
 as the double announcement would be very confusing for screen readers
 users.
