 I appreciate what is trying to be done here. But the core issue is that
 the addition of the rich text stuff to the text widget is breaking sites
 that use the text widget for arbitrary html. This is is a breaking change.
 Full stop. It cannot be reverted without a full DB backup and will just
 happen again the next time the widget is edited.
 The mantra of WP is backwards compatibility. This fails that test, badly.
