 @aholstrya if you disable all plugins, does the Text widget work?

 Also, do the media widgets work? Try the Video, Audio, and Image widgets.

 If you can then try re-activating each plugin one-by-one and check if the
 Text widget stops working, that will help identify if there is a specific
 plugin incompatibility.
