 @grapplerulrich `$type` was added along with the function in [2051], but
 never used, so the comment appears to be accurate. There are similar
 comments in [source:tags/4.7/src/wp-includes/kses.php?marks=1683#L1672
 safecss_filter_attr()] and [source:tags/4.7/src/wp-includes/ms-
 blogs.php?marks=1065#L1049 get_last_updated()], so I thought this one
 might be worth keeping as well.
