 I see a notification I guess as step one. It's useful but maybe at some
 point later we should explore going further?

 I also think the case goes a little beyond just this instance. A hidden
 menu is another great example. Or even a hidden sidebar under a hamburger
 menu slide-out panel :) Which many themes have.
