 Yeah, that's not the case.  There are a not insignificant number of folks
 that click 'Disable XML-RPC' or some option in a 'Security' plugin without
 understanding what it means, that this would suddenly break a large number
 of connections if we suddenly expanded the scope of what a filter actually
 does.
 :-1: to modifying the existing filter.
