Comment:

 Could you test again in 4.5-beta2 if possible? The "paste" plugin was
 updated there.

 If still not working please include some more info:
 - What version of Excel do you have?
 - Was the spreadsheet a new document created in your version of Excel? If
 not, could you create new document, then copy the whole spreadsheet and
 paste it there, then save and close. Then open the new file and try
 copying from it and pasting in the WordPress editor.
