 Thanks for reporting!

 I'm not sure that this is something that would be pursed in the immediate
 future. There are a plethora of plugins available that can create
 sliders/carousels and accommodate all of different layouts and features
 that may be needed for a site.

 Marking as 'maybelater' for now.
