 Thanks Stephane. It also looks like the oEmbed endpoint fails if the
 scheme of the video URL doesn't match the scheme of the endpoint URL. For
 example this fails:

 http://wordpress.tv/oembed?url=https://wordpress.tv/2014/06/07/andrew-
 nacin-wordcamp-connecticut-keynote/
