 I thought about changing the AND to OR but after looking at the later
 call's it looked like passing NULL to them would cause problems so I felt
 that change one null to the int_max and requiring other to be an INT was
 the best way to handle this.

 I feel it right the the function allow NULL for unrestricted is the right
 call this feel right for me.

 The Question is should all the re-sizes work this way as well?
