 thinking we should rename `.sidebar-content` to `.left-sidebar` and
 `.content-sidebar` to `.right-sidebar` and be done with it. This would
 make it a lot clearer in both RTL and LTR cases IMO.

 I'm perfectly ok with that - but I think that patch would be a little
 wider at that point as it would require style.css changes and probably
 changes in the template files as well.

 We'll also need to set the default option to .right-sidebar in RTL - so
 theme-options.php would still need to be patched.
