 Just wanted to further confirm that we just tried this on a clean VPS with
 1.5GB of Dedicated RAM, same software as mentioned above and we installed
 xCache. We dedicated 32MB of RAM to xCache and upon attempting to access
 /wp-admin/ we were greeted with the same error. Something is eating the
 RAM up and fast. We ran 2.9.x on a 512MB VPS with decent traffic and zero
 issues. As of right now, we couldn't do that with 3.0.
