Comment:

 really curious whatever happened to this idea.  I'm sorry I stumbled upon
 it so late after it was proposed, since it now looks like it clearly won't
 be in 3.0.  While it does make the theme structure *slightly* more
 complicated by adding a couple of folders, it makes everything
 significantly cleaner.  Feels somewhat similar to how Carrington operates,
 but in a much more manageable (and easier to grok) fashion.
