#13546: Extend "Links" to act as general purpose "bookmark" library, and allow easy
insertion of links from link library into posts

I had a few ideas about how to make the "Links" library in the admin much
more useful.
I was thinking that it could become sort of like a set of "bookmarks" -- a
collection of links that you reuse often, and can easily insert into
posts.
If you found yourself inserting a certain link over and over into various
posts, you would add it to the link library. One of the major benefits of
this would be that it would enable you to GLOBALLY change a link. If a URL
changes, then you just update it in one place (in your Links library),
instead of having to either use MySQL UPDATEs to change all of the links,
or (if you are the average wordpress user) manually changing each of them
by hand in the editor.
The "Create link" button in the editor should be augmented to do what it
currently does (i.e. create a link when you highlight text) if there is
text selected. However, if there is no text selected, then when you click
it, it should present you by default with the current menu plus an
addition field to enter link text.
Additionally, there should also be two new tabs added to the "Create link"
dialog called (1) "Insert from Link library" that allows you to select a
link from your link DB (somewhat similar to how image insertion + Media
gallery works), and (2) "Insert link to post" (which allows you to quickly
link to one of your other articles/posts)
I'd be willing to start working on this myself, if nobody thinks this is a
bad idea. Any reasons why this shouldn't happen?
