Comment(by mikeschinkel):
Hakre - I understand the URL routing system reasonably well (I just spend
a full Saturday working around if for a client.) This proposal presumes
(and hopefully I'm correct) that the parse_query() can be superseded
without sacrificing any backward compatibility.
John, thanks for the support.
I'm currently working on three projects that all need better URL routing
and I'm working 12 hours days on these projects so I've not had time to go
off and spend the 3 days this will probably take but practically every day
I work I realize the need. When I have the ability to take the time I plan
on building a proof of concept. At least I hope I can get the 3+ days it
will take to do this sometime soon.
BTW, this is just one potential way to address the need for more flexible
URL routing; I'm pretty sure we are going to need it once custom post
types get full into the wild.
