You shouldn't be posting your login cookies anywhere. In this case there's
no security problem as your installation is on localhost (not accessible
from Internet) but it's always a good idea to remove them before pasting
the headers.
The original reporter seems to have been having problems with a plugin or
browser cache. Unfortunately there's no information on what caused it and
how it was fixed.
When switching from 2 to 1 column any postboxes that are still in the
sidebar are moved to the main (center) column. This is more of an error
condition as postboxes should be hidden from the Screen Options, not by
switching columns. The logical thing for the user would be to move all
postboxes out of the sidebar column before hiding it.
When playing with this functionality (i.e. switching 2 -> 1 -> 2 -> 1
several times) it seems the initialization of the droppable container for
the sidebar fails sometimes making it quite hard to drag/drop postboxes
there (it still exists but is only couple of pixels).
This was working properly originally and seems to have been introduced
with the jQuery UI upgrade couple of months ago. Reloading the page as
Ryan suggests seems to fix it. Unfortunately this is browser brand and
version dependent so all the currently used 15-20 browsers have to be
tested in order to improve this and not break it more.
