 Check this, it's the comment feed: to me it displays comments about a post
 that was made in 2007 instead of the general comment feed which should
 display all comments starting with the newest ones.

 Which htaccess rules are yout alking about, do you mean the ones Wordpress
 added by default? I didn't touch these.
