Comment:

 'thumbnail' is a generic thumbnail that abides by the Media settings.

 'post-thumbnail' is a size-specific thumbnail, created for Post-thumbnails
 in the case where the theme may have a different size in mind (ie.
 Twentyten header, or i might have a 100x250px post thumbnail for example).
