Perhaps you could post a patch which would resolve the issue. One approach
that springs to mind would be adding submit buttons and then writing some
JavaScript to hide them and submit the form when an option is chosen from
the select box.
I should note that forms can be submitted in most browsers by hitting the
'Enter' key when a form field is selected.
Bumping this to 2.9 since no patch is provided.
