 The {{{$fakeit}}} switch in {{{get_the_excerpt()}}} is unused.

 {{{the_excerpt()}}} lacks such a switch.  Whether or not this was ever
 used, I think it'd be good functionality.  Often times people want the
 ability to only show an excerpt if they've manually provided one.

 Start your voting.  Should I implement the feature or mark it as
 deprecated?
