[wp-testers] Gallery attachments in wp3.5

Previous to 3.5 attaching images to a post and *not* having it in the 
[gallery] in the post kept them attached to the post.

in 3.5, those attached to the post galleries are not being recognized so the 
'add media' button when it comes up only says "create gallery" yet there is 
one (as the post has attached images to it)

then when using the create gallery button it really only adds [gallery 
id="#,#,#"] to the post and doesn't really attach them to the post

.. is this right? how it is nowadays?
