[wp-testers] Featured image to custom header with Twenty Ten?

I'm using Twenty Ten and getting ready to use it in a "Building Websites with WordPress" class this Saturday at the Univ. of British Columbia. One of the features in the Twenty Ten dev blog is setting the featured image and having that set as a custom header image for a particular post (http://2010dev.wordpress.com/2010/02/04/quebec/), but I must be missing some magic because I can't get it to work.
For this post (http://trishussey.com/2010/05/22/building-websites-with-wordpress-for-normal-people-next-week-do-you-have-a-domain/) I used the book cover image as the Featured Image as well and as much as I like my header image … I wanted the book cover.
Is the problem that I already have a header image or that it's a child theme of Twenty Ten (feel free to try the child theme-http://trishussey.com/2010/05/21/its-easy-to-make-child-themes-with-twenty-ten-download-my-first-wordpress-theme/)? Or does the featured image have to be of a certain size?
Thanks in advance.
Tris
