Try enclosing the caption in <p></p> tags. The <br /> will work then.

I've just noticed an odd problem with the caption system. I've just added a
tradition XHTML style <br /> into a caption & updated it. The TinyMCE editor
showed the effects but when I've saved it & looked at the post the <br />
has been removed. I've tried a few times & the same thing happens each time
