Regarding the WPG2... The core Gallery2 API's functionality works fine in WP 2.1, however the changes to the new version of TinyMCE in WP 2.1 has caused problems with using the G2image tool.  Capt Kirk is finalising the patch and we be releasing WPG2 2.01 to correct this..

I have updated the WP Codex page to reflect this..
