[wp-hackers] Reviews for Plugins

+1 for this in theory.

I like the idea of having rating option say on the plugin listing row. But then again if I manage half a dozen sites I don't want to be bothered to rate a plugin on each site. You can see how this would exponentially cause issue as well as possibly false ratings.

the one good thing I like about it is potentially when the user rates the plugin then the 'hook' would know what version of WordPress they are running. Many times I get comments about my plugin not working on some latest WP version. Only after contacting the reporting user do I find out they did select the correct WP version when providing the rating.

One of the things I have noticed is that while tons of people download and try plugins the feedback mechanism for coming back and putting a start-review is poor. Most users, when the plugin works correctly, simply never come back to add their vote. I was wondering if WP put a star system right on the 'Installed Plugins' page if more people would use it. This would be similar to how the Apple review system works. Another option would be if someone has had a plugin installed for X days they would get a reminder message to review or vote on the plugin.
