Too far. The spirit of the query is totally a valid use of wp-hackers: "what
is the best practice for browser detection in wordpress? Is there an API in
core?". The answer in this case comes down to no, there is nothing in core,
and the information he needed was generic and thus not really appropriate
for the list. That is still a valid answer to a valid WP-Hackers question.

Core development discussion has to happen on trac or the p2 dev blog or else
it is considered invalid. WP-Hackers is a discussion list for people who
write code for and with WordPress, please don't try to tell people to go
away if they are asking questions that involve hacking and WP.
