[wp-hackers] media_sideload_image() motel -- scripts check in, they don't check out?

For some reason, it seems that calling media_sideload_image() is killing my
script dead.

No warnings or errors, even with wp_debug set to true, and error_reporting =
E_ALL | E_STRICT

Even after including wp-admin/includes/file.php and
wp-admin/includes/media.php -- any ideas?
