[wp-hackers] Menu classes for custom post types?

I'm liking 3.1's automatic handling of custom post type archive pages, but two issues:

1) The only way to add these listings to menus seems to be via a custom link.

2) Consequently, there's no indication in the menu that you're on a current post type page, or ancestry when looking at one of the individual custom post type items.

Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, figured out a way to work around it?
