If the only thing you will *ever* have on your site is proverbs and never anything else (no pages, not blog posts, no news, no nothing else), then I guess it is no better.
But it seems rather limiting to choose posts when it is so easy to choose a custom post type. Worse is to advocate for use of posts for something better done with a CPT on a list where others may see the advice and without your pre-meditation choose not to use a custom post type and thus paint themselves into a corner.
